SPECIALIZATION

With over twenty years of experience consulting senior level executives and managers on organizational strategic change issues, their personal performance issues and career transition actions, Tim is known as a very powerful and perceptive executive and consultant, who brings an “integral” approach to his practice. He specifically works in the areas of executive leadership and succession programs, collaborative strategy formulation, executive coaching, executive team development, and conflict management. Many executives use Tim as their personal leadership coach.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

Before founding Marvin Consulting in 1994, Tim was with King Chapman Broussard & Gallagher, a Houston-based national change management and outplacement-consulting firm for eight years, most recently as National Manager of the Executive Consulting Practice. With full profit and loss accountability for this business, he was responsible for the marketing and quality design and delivery of executive career development and transition, assessment, and leadership education and performance coaching programs. Prior to these national managerial and consulting responsibilities, Tim managed the firm's flagship Houston office, where he successfully brought his managerial, marketing and consulting expertise to individual outplacement and the planning and implementation of mergers, restructuring and large downsizing projects.

The theme of management plus training, supervising and empowering people runs throughout his business career. During his eight years as a practicing attorney, Tim specialized in administrative, commercial and corporate law. Later, he entered the consulting business as National Operations Manager for one of the nation's largest training organizations. As a line manager, he was responsible for the success of twenty-seven branches around the world: managing both start-up, and growth opportunities.

Tim has also led highly acclaimed workshops throughout the country on leadership, teamwork, managing change, communications and coaching. These were attended by thousands of people representing small and large corporations and government.

EDUCATION

Tim received his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma. His undergraduate work was done at The College of William and Mary, where he was President of the Student Body and co-captain of varsity lacrosse. Since consulting, he has studied “integral” organizational, leadership and adult development with Fernando Flores, Chris Argyris, Bob Putnam, Bob Kegan, Ken Wilber and Fred Kofman.

PERONAL

Tim and his wife are avid travelers who enjoy classical and jazz music. When he is not reading or studying The Wisdom Traditions, he may be seen walking on the beach, sailing or puttering in their lawn or garden.
